Easter is not pagan if practiced the right way, in reverence of Jesus' sacrifice for us. I have gone to Passover Seder several times--it's very interesting and I hope you find it so as well.

clarification: the celebration of the resurrection is certainly not pagan.

the word "Easter" IS the name of a pagan goddess that was worshipped on the British Isles

In most languages, the word Christians use for the celebration of the Lord's resurrection is a word related to "paschal" (in spanish, in is Pascuas). It is only the English language that uses a pagan name.

The resurrection took place during the Passover celebration, which occurs in the spring. In England, there was a pagan springtime festival in honor of the fertility goddess Easter. So the two names became confounded.

So, call the day by another name if you like. But the resurrection is the central tenet of Christianity, and I would hardly dismiss the core of our faith as pagan

Or, speak a language other than English! then there won't be a problem

(I am celebrating Easter. I have celebrated passover seder meals some years as well as celebrating Easter.)
