Rossi VT has a spectacular aura about
Would I feel comfortable at the Not So Scary Halloween Party?

I was raised in a religion that doesn't celebrate Halloween, and I'm very uncomfortable with the holiday. However, I'm taking some guests down in early October and thought we could take advantage of the extra time the park will be open that night. (I know it costs around $40 extra per person on top of regular admission, but it's been years since I've been able to be at MK that late.)

Just how "Halloween-ey" is this event? Does it take place all over the park, or just on Main Street? I've seen pictures of Mickey and Minnie during the party and they looked like they were just dressed in "harvest clothes." Is it more like a harvest festival with candy, or a full on ghosts and goblins thing?

Basically, I love WDW and I'd rather just skip the party if it'll make me feel like an outsider.

Thanks in advance!

It really depends on what makes you uncomfortable with Halloween.

While it's definitely not a scary event, it is an event that takes place all over the park.

The park entrance music and Main Street music are Halloween themed. The characters are dressed in Halloween costumes--for example, Eeyore was dressed as a mummy and Mickey was dressed as a vampire when I went a few years ago. There are trick-or-treating stations all over the park. Most of the guests who attend the event dress up in Halloween costumes.

The parade is cute--and one of the best that Walt Disney World puts on--but, it's called the "Boo to You" Parade. It features your favorites Disney characters in various Halloween costumes. The parade is preceded by the riding of the "headless horseman" down the parade route.

Personally, I enjoy the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party...But, I'm a Halloween person.

If you you have a religious objection to Halloween, this event might not be comfortable for you.

The links I've provided below contain more photos of the event. The last one is video of the parade. You can judge for yourself.
