| Why don't Christians need to celebrate the Passover in the Hebrew manner?
There are significant similarities AND differences between the Jewish Passover and the Christian celebration that took the Passover into another dimension by turning it into a remembrance of Jesus' death and resurrection. I'm thinking of the apostle Paul, for instance, saying "Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast - as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth." (1 Corinthians 5:6-8)
The calander differences are also significant (Jewish lunar year making it April but Christian dating making it about a month earlier?) Can you home in on one or two points of difference and/or similarity to help clarify please? Thanks everyone!
