Why is Easter in March and Passover in April? I don't think we should celebrate Easter or use the word that was a mistranslation of the word "Passover" having easter baskets and bunnies celebrating spring like pagans..... I consider it Ressurection Day but why is it a month away from Passover (the celebration Jesus and the apostles celebrated) ?

Easy answer is that this is a Jewish "Leap Year" - it gets a little complicated after that. In order to keep up with the time difference between the Jewish calendar year and the actual solar (rotation of the earth around the sun) year, there is an extra month added 7 times in each 19 year cycle. The first month on the Jewish calendar (biblical - not civil) is Adar, which is the month during which Passover occurs. On leap year, a second Adar is added. Some celebrate Passover during Adar 1 - but it is most common to celebrate in Adar 2. Since the "normal" calendar we're used to doesn't have this extra month, Easter is calculated in the same way it always is - which several folks have explained in their answers. I'd also add that Easter actually usually coincides with the Feast of First Fruits rather than Passover - although the term Passover is used as sort of an "umbrella" to refer to all of the first 3 spring feasts, because of their close proximity to one another (clear as mud - huh??) Here's a link to a more detailed explanation (although it's not specifically dealing with the Passover - the explanation still applies): http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cd...

The true Resurrection Day (fulfillment of Day of Firstfruits) falls on the first Sunday after the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread. Easter is not calculated by the sacred calendar. Easter is a pagan feast that has nothing to do with Christianity. the Catholic Church abolished the Passover and since the true Resurrection Day could not be calculated due to Passover's abolishment, Easter was implemented. This should be a wake up call to those who want to follow God's Holy Days as the early church did. The prophetical false church, the Catholic Church, abolished God's feasts one by one and replaced them with a counterfeit, pagan holidays. This year, Passover is March 21st at twighlight according to the sacred calendar (14th day of 1st month) Feast of Unleavened Bread (15th day of 1st month) is March 22nd in which we fast in commemoration of Christ's suffering on the cross on this day. The following Sunday (March 23rd) is the Day of Firstfruits (Resurrection Day) the day in which we celebrate the resurrection of Christ by breaking bread as Jesus set the example 2000 years ago.

Passover is on the 5th sunday of Easter this year, so technically, Passover is on Easter. Easter Sunday comes 40 days after Ash Wednesday, which is set according to the position of the moon or something like that, I would have to do some research to find the specifics.
