| public school or home school?
I read somewhere that either public school or homeschool was started in America because parents wanted their children taught seperately from the Irish and other Europeans imigrating to the U.S. in the 1700's or 1800's. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the facts, or tell me if it is even true.      |

It's not true - people have been homeschooling for thousands of years in every society and culture. Public schools have only been available on a widespread basis for the past 150 or so.
