Tallk to your high school gudiance counsler - there are more scholarships and grants out there than you know and some do nto even require super grades and achievments. The counsler can also give you info on work-study programs and such. But JC may be wise for the first year. Once you are on your own for a year (filing your own taxes and not claimed on your parents) then you will have an easier time getting financial aid for college in the form of grants or loans. Even with JC make sure to visit the schools counslers and financial aid offices to see what help is available. Also if you knwo what you want to study sometimes there are ways to get some training then work for companies tha will help pay for school. For example I have friend who wants to be a nurse. she now works as a receptionist for medical group, this company has program that will allow here to go to nursing school and she will get reimbursed some of her tutition for if she maintains good grades. |
