she could really be sick. You should take her to the doctors and see if they can find anything wrong. Im not sure you should take weekends away i guess it depends on what day she stays home from school. But if she doesnt go to school that day then she definately should not be allowed to go out after school. But maybe if she misses on a friday then you can tell her no weekends.

Here's an idea: TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR!

Do people even think anymore?

How old is she? Find out if something is bothering her at school or if she's just staying up too late... the problem could be more serious than you think....

Boy, are you going to feel like an idiot when you find out she has a brain tumor and a trip to the neurologist could have cured it a year ago -- but now . . . yeah, let's punish her for having a brain tumor -- yep, that's the ticket! That'll cure her! (dripping sarcasm, here.)

Ok, so your insurance doesn't pay for it. Too bad. Tell the doctor, and make some sort of payment arrangements, but get your azz and hers down to the neurologist!! Social, happy kids generally don't mind going to school because that's where their friends are. If she's continually having headaches so bad that she wants to stay home from school, SOMETHING IS WRONG, and unless you're a freakin' doctor yourself, or a Christian Scientist who refuses medical treatment and just sits back and hopes for the best, then DO something.

(On the other hand, a trip to the eye doctor may be just as useful, and a lot less expensive. She may just need glasses.)

Is she puberty age? If so, it could be migraines. I'd suggest getting a list of her symptoms and getting her a doctor appointment. Migraine symptoms usually include a sensitivity to light or smell and an overwhelming pain that doesn't tend to go away with regular pain relief. Until then, give her tylenol and send her to school. You might also make sure she's drinking enough. Mild dehyration can give you headaches (or bring on migraines).

Take her to the doctor..have her explain the headaches to the doctor..if the doctor thinks it serious then they will do something about it..if not then she doesn't really have an excuse..give her some pain meds and send her on her way to school. Every kid needs a "mental health day" once in a while..but if she gets into the routine of missing school it just gets harder to get her to go back.

No! ...... omg!!! What you need to do is "talk to her". Maybe something is bothering her. It doesn't matter if she is 8 or 17, school can be very stressful, don't be afraid to talk to your child. She also may very well be sick.

Parents these days!

Have you thought of taking her to the doctor and getting her checked out? Her symptoms could be justified. And if they aren't then at least you'll find out.
