They could be there ALL DAY for a two-minute scene. They do it quite often on campus--and so many people standing around doing nothing.. etc.

Only budget productions hire houses for sets, real productions are filmed on built to order sets...

Contact "Production Companys", they make low budget productions - they are in the yellow pages.

There are several ways

1 Most major cities have a film commission. With in the film commission some have a location library. If your city has this library simply contact them and find out what is necessary to get a file on your house.

2 Location Services. There are private agencies that provide their own location library's. These location agencies will list your house in exchange for around 30 Percent of the location fee. Generally most will require an exclusive if you wish to be represented by them. The good part is they will generally know the budget of a given shoot and they should be able to negotiate the best rate.

3 Location scouts. Production companies will hire location scouts to find the location for their needs. If you get a film "source book" You can drop a post card that high lights your place. This is one way to go around the agencies, however, unless you place is very special I would consider going with an agency. If your place is very unique then i would just negotiate with each agency that you do not want an exclusive.
