math homework help plz?

please help me with this homework...

Find the lowest common denomnator for each of the following sets of numbers
1. 3/5 1/10
2. 2/3 3/8 1/2
3. 1/5 1/4 4/10
4. 2/3 5/9 5/5
--------------------------------------...
Change these numbers to improper fractions

12. 8 2/5
13. 12 2/3

add these problems and reduce answers to lowest terms. Change all improper fractions to mixed numbers.

14. 5/8 15. 2/5 16. 7/9
+ 5/8 + 4/5 +2/3

Trilliumc has a spectacular aura about
for numbers 1-4 change them to the same denominator first then multiply them with a number making them into whole numbers
for 12 and 13 the formula is the whole number times the denominater plus the numerator over the denominator
for 14 to 16 change them to same denominators then add them up easy

just curious what grade are you in?

for these, you just have to find the lowest multiple of each number that is the same
1. 10
2. 24
3. 20
4. 45

for these, you multiply the denominator by the whole number and then add the numerator then put that number over the denominator
12. 42/5
13. 38/3

I dont understand what to do for the last? do you add each number to the 3 fractions underneath?

hope this helps!

Hey bud --

Having someone do your homework for you won't help at all. These are some pretty common things you need to learn how to do. Here's the basics:

Problem #1: 3/5 and 1/10. Your lowest common denominator is 10 -- because you can multiply 5 by 2 to get 10. So 3/5 = 6/10 (multiply both the 3 and the 5 by 2). That leaves you with 6/10 and 1/10.

If you're completely stuck on how to get to one, multiply your denominators together. In that method:

Problem #1: 5 x 10 = 50. To get 3/5 to have a denominator of 50, you multiply by 10. So it becomes 30/50. 1/10 to get to a denominator of 50 is times 5. To it becomes 5/50. So you're left with 30/50 and 5/50. But then you can see that ALL numbers are divisible by 5: brings your answer down to 6/10 and 1/10!

Hope that helps -- read your mathbook, ask questions in class, and ask for help from classmates/parents. This stuff will become VERY important! Start your foundation strong now. Work now or work later... trust me, working now is WAY better!
