Please help me help my 6 year old first grader with his math homework?

Problem:
Bob divided a pizza into 8 equal pieces. He ate 5 pieces of pizza. If the shaded area shows how much pizza was eateh, which pizza is Bob's.

1. circle with 4 equal slices all shaded.
2. circle with 4 equal slices 2 shaded.
3. circle with 3 non equal slices with 2 shaded
4. circle cut in half with all of it shaded.

Please explain your answer so that I can try and help him with this. Ya'll really helped me out a few weeks ago with math and I really appreciate it.
Duke...after reading your answer I started cracking up laughing, because honestly I feel the same way!! I can't believe this is first grade math!! But it is a serious question that I obviously needed help with. Thanks for the laugh though, and thanks to the others for the answers. I guess I will be looking into hiring a tutor over the summer!

if he took 5 pieces of 8 then thats 5/8.
So it can't be one because that would be all of it eaten
It can't be two because that would be half
It can't be four because thats the same as two.
I guess you can do 3. its not accurate but its the best answer out of the 3

You will need a circle with 8 equal slices and 5 shadded.

Ok, the answer has to be #3, just because the others are obviously false; but if you think about, this doesn't work either, so there is no correct answer.

This is hardly an appropriate question for a first grader. Go see the teacher, and bring along a pizza (with or without, depending on how you feel about anchovies), so she or he can explain the correct answer. Bet s/he can't.

That's not first grade math and you know it. A cheater and a liar too - what a great example you're setting.

It has to be 3 because the others are not equal to 5/8. They are either 1/2 or 1 whole.
