| Binomial Function HOMEWORK help, PLEASE?
1) Suppose you purchase a bundle of 16 bare-root broccoli plants. The sales clerk tells you that on average you can expect 6% of the plants to die before producing any broccoli. Assume that the bundle is a random sample of plants. Use the binomial formula to find the probability that you will lose at most 1 of the broccoli plants.
2)Corinne is a basketball player who makes 65% of her free throws over the course of a season. In a key game she shoots 11 free throws and only makes 5 of them. Use the binomial probability formula to show that the probability that Corinne makes exactly 5 of her 11 free throws is 0.0985.
3) Corinne is a basketball player who makes 75% of her free throws over the course of a season. In a key game she shoots 12 free throws and only makes 8 of them. Use the binomial probability formula to calculate the probability that Corinne makes exactly 8 of her 12 free throws.
*Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am lost. Thanks!
