help with bone homework for zoology?

A 75-year-old woman and her 9-year-old granddaughter were victims of a train crash. In both cases, trauma to the chest was sustained. X rays of the grandmother revealed several fractured ribs, but her granddaughter had none. Explain these different findings.

My guess is that the answer you are looking for is that the old woman has osteoporosis and the girl's bones were still a trifle flexible.

i think you need a little more info such as which way the train fell... and so forth... if it was the exact same way, i would say that the daughters bones are probably much stronger than the gmas and they are also smaller so the impact could be sustained easier.
