Im in a Human Development class, and we have to do a Career Interview on our desired major! I'm going into Elementary Education

Career Interview

1. What kind of educational requirements did you have to meet, in order to obtain your current career in Education?
2. Was there any gap in between your expectations of pay and actual salary?
3. Do you see yourself continuing your education to possibly move forward in your career?
4. Are you happy in your career decisions? Why or why not?
5. What is one thing you would inform or suggest to a student pursuing education?

1. Needed a BA, major in math and minor in education, plus an MA in education
2. No, I knew teachers didn't make all that much
3. No, other that what's required to keep my certificate
4. Yes, I really like teaching and was lucky to get a job at a great school. Schools usually have a good pension plan to look forward to.
5. Be sure you know what requirements are needed in your state to get and keep your certificate. Talk with other young teachers. Try to find someone who tried and quit to see why.
