| Should I sue my doctor?
I went to my doctor complaining of certain bowel problems. My doctor, who practices for a large medical facility, ordered me to have different tests done at her facility. Several days later, tests came back and a nurse from the office called to tell me that I had $#!@$#, an infectious disease. I was told that my illness had been reported to the CDC and the State Board of Health. I had to retest 3 more times before I could work again (2nd one was + too). On the day I was to return to work, I recieved a call from the Board of Health stating that I should give my doctor a call. I called my doctor's office and a nurse told me that there had been a mistake. I did not have @#$%#$^, and NEVER did. Their lab had made a mistake TWICE. I have missed 2 weeks of work, had to tell my business that I had a disease that is passed through feces, and alienated myself from friends and family because I was afraid of giving anyone my SICKNESS. What should I do?I guess I could understand if they missed something... But they said that they found something that wasn't there...twice. How does that happen.

maybe you could do something. . . sounds like they caused you some personal grief and embarrassment. Make sure they take care of those reports to the CDC and all. If nothing else, you might could claim lost wages on them, cause someone screwed up.

Sorry to hear you went through all that stress.So....what exactly do you want to sue them for? I don't see any laws being broken.I agree you went through a major inconvenience and embarrassing situation, but not sure I see a lawsuit here.I wouldn't take your case.Respectfully,Judobigdog

wow, I'm sorry to tell you but theirs nothing you can do. if you try to sue your going to end up paying out more than you would get if you had a case. And the sad thing is you don't have a case it will just be ruled as a mislikely error

Certainly not sue the doctor, that wont do any good. As far as i know tests like these aren't done by the doctors at hand, but the people in the lab, so suing the doctor will only bring more grief to your wallet and the doctor.

I'm sorry to say, but even if you won the case, you probably wouldn't receive your money in any fair amount of time, suing on this case would not help you, because you would likely pay more in court fees. legals fees and such.If I were you, I would report her to the state medical licensing board, and if you think that it is worth it to sue, then go for it. But definitely file the report first. You would probably do better in small claims court due to less appeals and stress.

Why would you encourage someone to sue their doctor for erring on the side of caution. Medicine is not an exact science. People expect a lot from doctors when, 20 or 30 years ago, they were amazed that some of these illnesses had a possibility of a cure. I know you've suffered some anxiety over what has happened to you but at the end of the day, the doctor was just looking out for you and making sure you were healthy.
