could one knee injury have caused the collapse of a team?

talking about carson palmer injuring his knee in the playoff game against the steelers seems like its been all downhill since for the bengals. could they have won if he wasnt hurt that game?

I always believed that they would have won if he had stayed in. As for the whole karma thing, it sure seems like a kickoff event to start their decline.
