| How common is serious injury in football? All right, before you say don't go out if I'm scared to get hurt or something know that I don't really mind bruises, finger breaks, stuff like that. What I want to know is how common is it to get serious injuries (such as broken backs, necks, breaks to limbs that will not heal right, quadriplegia, etc.) Please give a little info on each of those I listed, such as how often. I'm a little worried since I'm smaller ( about 6' but only 142 lbs.) I still very much want to go out, I just want to know the likelihood of me getting one of those injuries. Thanks. Running Back or Wide Receiver |

| WELL FOR RB OR WR YOU WILL BE GETTING HIT A LOT SO THERE IS SOME SOME CHANCE YOU CAN GET SERIOUSLY INJURED... im not really sure, ive never had an serious injuries(only bruises, but then again i am 6' 3'' 300lbs) but as long as you stretch really good, and you have a good amount of muscle you should be fine No one can give you a serious answer to this question because there isn't one. The likely hood is you will be injured while playing football... you run into people are hard as possible. Broken bones are common, torn muscles is common, but breaking your neck / dying / or becoming paralyzed is very very rare. When I was in high school our very first game one of our defensive players sacked the other teams QB. He went down so hard he broke his arm and the bone came out of his skin. Later on in the season our running back blew out his knee and didn't play again for the next two seasons. Running backs are the most likely position to get injured. Injuries happen it is part of football If you step on the field thinking you are going to get injured you will. |
