This is like asking do people break their legs if they fall off a tall building.
You would think so, but this doesn't always happen.

The key phrase in that article is this:

"Silver said that he believes that this could indeed be the case—that persons with a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia might inherit difficulty paying attention, or perhaps a slowness to react, that would then make them more vulnerable to head injury."

In other words, it is not the head injury per se, which leads to schizophrenia. Rather, ALL subjects in the study were at genetic risk for the disease (read the first part of the article). It would appear that not only is the risk for the development of schizophrenia, but also for inattention (which concurrently increases the risk for head injury).
