Should i wear a knee brace when returning to football after ACL injury?

Im coming back from ACL surgery, around 9 months now, everything is going well, and i am track to make my comeback. I am going to see my consultant in around 2 weeks. Is it likely, or wise, to wear a knee support when i go back to full contact football (soccer)? I havnt used a knee brace at all so far, for things like running and sprinting.
