I need help with questions about a work related injury?

Fell at work & injured knee 2006;seen by company dr. barely walk across the hall to 4 xrays, & gave me crutches. dr didnt touch knee he ask ?s & gave me naproxon & pain pills. didnt feel I got standard care, went back to work after a wk when able 2 walk w/o crutches. job consist of alot walking ,ect. few months after injury I told the workers comp manager how I didnt receive care I thought I should have, stating that dr never touched my knee 4 r.o.m. I continued same job 4 same employer. Oct.2007 job increased walking ect & I began having trouble same knee pain again. company sent back 2 same dr Nov/Dec 2007. same dr gave me 2 steroid shots & pain pills company pd. pain continues, & I made a Ortho dr. appt & was told by company 2 use reg ins. now Ortho dr has setup a MRI. Will I be able to prove that it is still from the injury in 2006 or has the time frame lasped on it. I have been with this co 8 yrs. my supv gave me a low eval. & I didnt get my full raise this yr. Advise me!!

I would go to your HR and tell them (and in writing) you are going to get a second opinion. You have a right to this, but you need to follow the policy to ensure it is done properly.

No matter what your course of employment, you work is obligated to treat an injury sustained in the work place. Keep all your documentation of the injury, office visits and communication with the Doctor (phone calls and responses).

It sounds like you may think your Eval is related to your injury. Your supervisor should be able to fully explain why you received the eval you did. If it is related to response times or slowness of your walking, you need to go to HR and share this with them. You are not there to complain but to ensure you and your supervisor see eye to eye.

Good luck. Knees are important. Make sure the workers comp pays your deductible as this is there responsibility.
