Appendicitis... or just pain from an old injury (ruptured disc)?

(Everyone asks this question, and the answer is: "go to the doctor." But I hate going to the doctor in the first place, and it's frustrating if "nothing is wrong.")
Anyway, last week I woke up feeling uncomfortable and nauseated. My stomach hurt -- all over. I went to throw up, but there was nothing in my stomach, so it seemed odd that I was nauseated at all. I ended up at home all day with a "weird" pain in my right side. (Hard to explain where or how it hurt.) But it was worse when I walked or moved, so I stayed still most of the day.
I felt a bit "bloated" the rest of the week, but otherwise fine... until yesterday.
I ruptured a disc in my back 10 years ago, and it hurts a little if I "reinjure" it. But yesterday, for no reason (I was at the grocery store buying a few things), my back started hurting... I could barely sleep last night from the stabbing plain. It was so bad this morning, I could hardly drive to work. The weird pain in my side is back, too.
Are these related?

well if you have no fever, I very much doubt it's appendicitis, but you could easily have "reinjured" your back without knowing it, most back injuries are a result of accumulated small moves that eventually lead to a full blown problem. Suggest that it would be appropriate to see your doctor for back pain.
