| Repetitive Stress Injury and Workers Comp?
I'm been in a new job for about a month and a half as a direct hire and the repetitive nature of my computer mouse movements is giving me severe discomfort.
I have had the issue in the past and it has largely been resolved by using a track ball type mouse. This time however, it is more severe due to the intensity of the job and the mouse isn't enough. I've tried two styles of ergonomic mouses and they only help slightly.
I would like to discuss the issue a doctor and it was suggested to me that it would likely have to be covered by worker's comp. I would like to keep my discussions with a doctor on a personal unofficial level.
There are other jobs I could do at the company but they would likely be seen as a step up in the small business. Given that my injury is not easily verifiable medically, I really don't want the appearance of using it to get ahead. I have no animosity toward management however.
Any advice regarding the worker's comp issue would be welcomed.
Thanks!
