Can someone help... I dont know what to do...injury help? ok i know that i post alot... but im getting really frustrated... I had my followup for my knee yesterday and the doc decided(thanks to the progress note from the PT-who had only seen me once-NOT the one i've seen for the past 10 months) that i should continue with PT even though it hasnt worked for the past 10 months...He also decided to try another cortisone shot(even though the first 3 didnt work)... When i went there 3 weeks ago he was all about doing surgery because of my injuries...now he is saying that surgery isnt necessary and that i need to continue with PT even though i can still(6 weeks later) put NO weight on my knee with out it giving way again(with immobolizer off), and with it on my knee pops and shifts with every step... My friends think that i should consult with another specialist, but im not sure if this is the way to go... or if i should wait it out once again with failed PT.. any help would be appriciated

Talk to another doctor. You don't seem very happy with the treatment nor are you getting the results. Doctor's aren't always right. I have a bad back and it took me 5 years and 6 doctors to figure out what's wrong and fix it.

i agree w/ youre friends its youre knee not the docs and if you feel that youre not getting the care that you need then you should seak a second opinion if go w/ the PT again think you will feel like it was waisted time.

woah , if you cant put weight on it still? I know they like to try the least invasive first, but its your knee. You know your body, if you feel like its not working, then another opinion wouldn't hurt. I would seek another opinion.
