...infection? I was at the range about a week and a half ago and forgot my ear protection but decided to shoot anyways. After leaving the range my ears were ringing but my left ear eventually cleared up. My right ear on the other hand did not. After about 4 days my neck and the back of my head began to swell and the pain increased. do not have insurance so I had to make a visit to the ER. Well in the begining when I went in the doctor made sarcastic remarks to me and thought he being funny. He was not taking it seriously at all. Once he looked into my right ear he stood back and said " Wow, you have an infection" and insisted my shooting without ear protectection had nothing to do with it. Well, I have not had an ear infection since I was about 7. Anyways, he prescribed me with two different antibiotics and sent me on my way. Well, I finished my medication and my neck and head are still swollen and the pain has increased and different sympthoms have developed. Bad headaches, loss of appetite ect.

Go back to the ER. Sounds like "mastoiditis" that is a serious infection which can progress into your brain. You may need IV antibiotics and a short hospital stay. Do NOT delay.
I hope you get a more diligent doctor this time around. Take your empty antibiotics bottles with you so that they can see what you were given and that you took them.
