Head injury...when will it get better???

Three nights ago I bumped my forehead really hard as I was getting into my car. I immediately got a huge bump on my head and the pain was excruciating! I put ice on it and the swelling has gone down quite a lot but I still have a knot on my head. I checked my eyes for signs of a concussion and they were fine. I called the doctor and the nurse said to come in if I felt dizzy, naseous, or if I had slurred speech. I feel fine, but I still have a lingering headache and I feel a little wierd. I also have two black eyes. My question is...when will my face go back to normal? The bump has gone down a lot, but my black eyes are looking worse. I had to go to the store today and everyone looked at me like I was an alien. When will I look and feel better?
