American football is more like rugby - hence the padding. I would say that makes THEM wimps since rugby players don't use any padding and just tape up their ears with electrical tape to stop them getting pulled off. Footballers don't need padding because it's not as physical. Although I agree that some of them would benefit from having their smug expressions covered up. |

There are players such as Tevez of United and Robert Earnshaw of Derby whereby there would be a positive improvement if they wore a helmet. That could be extended to managers as well for when Ian Dowie gets his next job.
