| T-11 Spinal cord injury (resulted in complete paralysis from waist down)... ...related questions... please help? Mother has recently suffered a T-11 spinal cord injury from a car accident that has caused her to become paralysed from waist down. Although she has no feelins/ movement from waist down she is still filling high levels of pain. Her doctors are saying that it is normal for a spinal cord injury patient to feel such phantom pains. Is there any ways to help her with the pain? Medicines such as painkillers haven't really helped her at all. Also do you know of any spinal cord research centers that are currently taking volunteers to test out their research? My mom says that she would like to be a volunteer. Meanwhile any tips in how to handle the pain level? |
