It's hard to answer your question given that I don't know the extent of your disfigurement and I haven't seen your medical records, lost wages, loss of consortium claim, etc. You need to consult with a personal injury attorney and see if you can file a product liability claim and perhaps against your employer. There are so many variables.

People who are injured by the negligence of another are entitled to legal damages, i.e., damages that the legislature and courts have ruled to be due to injured people. Why don't you want corporations and insurance companies to be responsible for the injuries and death they cause to consumers. THe way this question was worded made me think of the woman who spilled hot coffee on herself and was awrded millions of dollars from McDonalds. I think there is reasonable and then there is over-the-top greed and unfortunately, there are lots of people out there looking for a windfall at the expense of others.
