At football practce last monday night, I was playing in my usual position as goalie and while making a save, the ball hit my hand wrong and probably bent if in the same direction that my fingers curl. Imediately following this, I went to the emergency room at the local hospital where I was in a lot of pain. The doctor took x-rays and determined that it was not broken. The pain is more so in twisting my wrist than anything, but by moving it anyways, I experience a sharp pain between the base of my hand and about 2-3 inches down on mostly the top, but also the bottom of the wrist. My fingers are badly swollen, as is my wrist though not as much.It hurts terribly to twist it so my palm would face me.
When the doctor seen my wrist all he did was ask if it hurt pretty bad, I said of course, than he x-rayed, and sent me home after saying it wasn't broken.I have sprained my wrist before and never has it been like this. I am wondering if there is anything I should do in regards to..continued
making a doctors appointment for furthur inspection and such, as well as to ask how long untill it will heal, or at least how long it will take untill I will be able to play again. I have playoffs in 3 weeks and I need to be prepared for that. would u thinkthat it could be ready after that amount of time?
also.. theres one other thing to add to my symptoms... when I let my wrist go limp, than move it with my other hand, I am able to get greater range of painless motion before it is unbearable. On the other hand, if I try to move it on it's own, the pain is excrutiating immediately. It is also when I pick something, even like a paper folder without anything clipped into it that it hurts most.
I read on the internet that often there can be many things going wrong if it does not begin to heal soon andd I am worried that either I hurt ligaments, broke or cracked a bone that did not show up on the x-rays, or that it is muscular... anyways... any advice whatsoever is awesome...age 16
