Do I have a personal injury claim???

I was at a friends house and slipped down her stairs (wooden flooring that for sure 3 other people have slipped on). I broke my ankle and tore a ligament resulting in the ligament having to be sewn back and a plate and 10 screws put in to hole the bone. I lost my job and underwent alot of pain and suffering. I was in a wheelchair for 2weeks and on painful crutches for 5 weeks now. Do I have a claim with her homeowners ins and how will she be effected if I do sue and how much is this claim worth????

I should also add that my ins has been paying the medical bills but I told them it happen on my premisis when they asked. How will this effect me if I do decide to sue?
