Is it normal for a whiplash injury to only affect you a week later?

I had a fall on the ice about a month ago, but a week after the fall I started experiencing neck pain and headaches. I am now going to the massage therpaist weekly and she is telling me that my back neck and shoulders are full of knots. I have had a headache for 3 weeks straight so it has been quite frustrating althought they do stem from the base of my skull (top of my neck) and I feel the tension in my shoulders and back......I am getting scared that the headaches are something more serious because they only started showing up a week after my fall...

Well you might have any symptoms right now but it might talk to your doctors hope you feel better.
