Knuckle injury?

I punched a dresser (in a rage of anger :$) about a 2 weeks ago and about 3-4 days later my ring and index finger knuckles were so sore, discolored, and swollen. I went to the doctor this past Wednesday and had x-rays taken, and i didn't have any broken bones. I was put on some lotabs (sp?) and they haven't relieved any pain since I have been on them. I have a removable cast that I can take off when I shower and whatnot, but my hand, 2 1/2 weeks later is still in extreme pain and still swollen. I took some tylenol and put ice on it before i went to the doctor and nothing happened. no pain relief at all. Any idea on what I could have done? (Not broken or dislocated based on x-rays)
