wwwdot has a spectacular aura about
My boyfriend has head injury with bleeding in the brain, med. help please?!?

He was in a car accident around 11 am this morning, refused ambulance (he is a vet.) and wanted to go the VA Hospital instead. He was feeling fine, slight headache but everything else normal so I took him to the VA to double check everything and they did CT scan and found bleeding in his brain so they are keeping him there overnight or longer to do another scan in the middle of the night to see if anything has changed. The doctors seem surprised he is functioning normally. They said he prob. won't need surgery but might...what can I expect? What are the chances he will have no permanent damage? How likely is it that he will have surgery? What can I do to help? Like I said, he is talking, remembering things, perfectly normal just with a headache.
Just to add, he is in the hospital tonight, I am not with him so that's why I'm worried!
