Personal injury statute of limitations question?

I got in a minor accident March 15th, 2006. My insurance company called me today, over two years later, to tell me the other party hired an attorney, and turned down the settlement offered to them, so most likely they will be sueing me, and I need to let the insurance company when and if I get served with legal papers.

The statute of limitations in Oklahoma is 2 years, and they must have filed by that point. My question is, it has been almost 2 weeks since the "2-year" mark - could they have filed already if I haven't been served?
