Injury question for a torn rotator cuff?

ok, I have read about it and it has said over use and I play varsity baseball for my high school 3rd base and I dove for a ball and landed on it, it pops all the time, and it is the worst pain I have felt like that ever. What should I do if it is tore I want to wait for surgery but my dad tore his and the rehab took about a year for the shoulder to go back to normal and I dont want to miss football help please.
