I own a claw foot secretary, inherited from my grandparents, but I have no idea...

...of its age insurance value.? Breakfront, glass windows, drop leaf, 4 drawers, 3 shelves, cubby holes, small drawers, dark brown finish, "curly-cue" top piece

Rob, First of all congradulations. also the People of New Orleans are in Our Prayers even to this day since your Hurricane. You Should Look in the Phone book under Antique Dealers and Appraisers, and Make some Calls. That is the Best way to Learn the Value. You'd have to have it appraised by an antiques dealer..it's impossible to tell just by a written description.
