| accident-w/o insurance,not my fault?
i was in an accident in which an older lady pulled out to make a left w/o seeing me and i could not avoid her-her car totalled, mine 5500.00 in damage+aggravation to chronic injuries for which im on disability.michigan is a no-fault law state,so i can only sue her insurance for the "mini-tort",500.00 my worry is i did not have valid insurance...should this make a difference since i am only seeking the 500 towards repairs?i honestly did get used replacement parts and we got the vehicle running and looking good, short of a paint job,for apprxiametely 250.00.the body shop wanted the 5500.00;anyhow will it matter that i didnt have insurance? thanks in advance...

If your state requires that you have insurance, and you don't and get in and accident. The insured persons company can sue you for all damages and costs, because, you are not supposed to be on the road at all, under any circumstances. And they have groups of lawyers sitting around just waiting to screw with some unfortunate person. Check with an insurance agent, or the state, before you start fussing. |
