Medical coverage is immediate upon your entry to Active Duty. Basic Training is 8? weeks. You may need to check the website and contact someone @ Ft Leonard Wood [lovingly known as Ft Lost-in-the-Woods]. There are many companies going through the training cycle at once. There should be a Post Locator who can find out where your soldier is [what unit] and when he/she graduates.
Best wishes

Insurance for the member kicks in the day they show up to boot...insurance for the family usually take about 2 weeks to kick in.
As for graduation date....Jan 29th plus 8 weeks...Don't know the exact date but you can contact Ft LW and ask Public Affairs or the squadron.

Here's the Ft Wood website perhaps it can tell you when graduation is.

Medical insurance starts on day one.

You are insured under the Uniformed Health Services Benefit Plan effective the day you enter active duty. Even during your travel period to go to basic training. That means you can get treatment for free at any military treatment facility or emergency and urgent care at a civilian facility if no medical treatment facility is nearby.

prettymuch as soon as you go your medical will kick in because you ahve to be covered to do training.. and as far as the graduation date it all depends on if you are doing just basic there or if you are doing osut and also if you are doing osut then it would depend on your m.o.s. but once you get closer to your end date they will tell you and they will give you enough time to let your family know in case they want to come out to the graduation.
