iTouch safari internet browser speed?

I have Att high speed wi fi in my house and im thinkin about gettin an itouch. I heard the browser speed is garbage however. I have slow A$$ internet. Thats why i got super high speed DSL. So does anyone think the itouch should be used for internet or is it so slow its like dial up?
