aires69uk has a spectacular aura about
Any deal between Yahoo and Microsoft could be "bad for the internet".....?

Is this really true? What about the deal between Google and Doubleclick? Surely that is worse news for the internet than Microsoft and Yahoo?

Google chief executive Eric Schmidt said that Google was "concerned" about a deal and said it could have implications for the "openness" of the internet.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corp owns MySpace but I don't see the kind of problem with that, that I do with Google and Doubleclick.

Even if AOL go ahead and buy Bebo it still doesn't bother me as much as Google and Doubleclick.

Isn't this just a case of Google saying it's okay for us and others to do something, but that we basically disagree with Microsoft competing on a level playing field?

Aren't Google just becoming the new Microsoft?
