How do you think about Russo-Japanese War?

I think of it as the first time a European nation was defeated by an Eastern nation. It's also pretty much the beginning of the end for the Tsar in Russia.

A clear sign of the growing imperialistic nature of Japan, since Japan launched an attack on Port Arthur similar in style to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

It caused the start of hostilities between the United States and Japan, because the United States mediated the peace negotiations, and pressured Japan to take far less than what they could have on the conditions of Russia's surrender. This caused riots in Japan and started the Hostilities that eventually led to the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
