muppety_kid has a spectacular aura about
AS French WJEC FR1?

Any French teachers out there that teach this course? I was wondering what to expect from the FR1 exam and what I have to prepare.

From the spec, I know that there are three topic areas, which are:

(a) Leisure inc. tourism/travel, sport hobbies etc.
(b) Education inc. Schools (primary and secondary), FE, HE, training and careers.
(c) Social Issues inc. relationships, problems of young people, gender issues, drugs, Aids.

Topic-based conversation
Candidates need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of French society, based on topic areas (a), (b) and (c). Candidates will select and prepare in advance, one topic from each of topic areas (a), (b) and (c). The examiner will base the conversation on at least 2 of the topics chosen by the candidate, the discussion will be led by the examiner.

What do I need to do to prepare? For (a), would I just talk about sport, or hobbies as well? How much will I be expected to say? I'm working semi-independently and I'm stumped!
The link to the spec is:

I'm just conscious that my exam will be on 29 April and it's fast approaching - I haven't a clue what to do! I've got chance to speak to a native French speaker this afternoon so ideally i'd like to make a start before I see him.

Thanks a lot
