Can u tell me how can we solve the American and Japanese cultural problem?

The Americans are striaghtforward & don't take much time to answer a question whereas the Japanese think it's indescent to reply quickly without giving it a thought.
So how can one get to know abt each other's culture and solve these problems??

Build a time machine and don't drop 2 atomic bombs on Japan?
Maybe the Americans should of thought about that a bit longer eh?

The problem is that Americans are ethnocentric and don't care. Aside from individuals like myself who take the time to learn, it will not change on any large scale.
