Are there no benefits to learning French these days?

For example, there are tons of financial gains for learning English. But the same doesn't ring true for French these days does it?

French is still widely spoken, is often used in diplomacy, is one of the official languages of the United Nations, is an official language of a number of nations, and has a rich history, and is a beautiful language.

Those all sound like good reasons to me, so parlons français!

Well it truly depends on what area you are into. If you are a biologist, or a psicologist, biochemist, knowing french its of great help.
Besides the obvious....

Are you kidding? There's every benefit! If you speak fluent French, and live near a big city? Airports, that have airlines. Inperpreters. Public relations careers. You could go places. (Not a pun.)
