| Can you read dog's body language and their expressions?
I know I have been asking a couple questions about this pic tonight, but here's another one. Can you tell what this dog would say? Can you read his body language? What is he thinking and what is he about to do?Best answer goes to the one who answers all of those questions, and answers the most accurately. Good Luck!http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm132/amyjp612/?action=view¤t=100_0021.jpgDr. Quack, you're in 4th right now. But he is 2 years old, and he's not a white shepherd, he is a white GSD. He is a purebred GSD. His parents both carried a gene that, when doubled, causes bleached coloring, so if it weren't for that, he'd probably be an awesome black and cream like his father, or a black and red.

I have a solid black German Shepard. Your's is beautiful.I would say that your pup is at ease because he is laying down, but in a posture to where he can move quickly if needed. His ears are pricked forward so he is looking at something that interests him or is expecting something. I think he is looking at you wondering if you are going to come out and play. The minute you let your body language tell him your coming out to play he will jump right up and be ready to play.Hope I got it right.

heh, i'm just comparing him to my own dog when he looks similar, and what my dog does. (:so i'd think that dog is a bit fixated on something; trying to look at something, keep his gaze on something. and a moment later, get up, lurch up; and go check it out, whatever was interesting him, whether he's going to go dart after a squirrel or investigate a truck on the other side of a fence.

This dog is about to say, "What, did u say dinner is ready?" and his body language says he was listening to you and is ready to get up and GO to see what you just said about dinner.

Appears that he would say, "What next, Mom?"His body language is telling me that is is relaxed in an environment that he feels comfortable in. He has a soft expression, not fixated or intensely looking at the photographer but simply watching the goings on. Maybe you were speaking to him to encourage an good shot.He seems to be thinking or rather responding to someone encouraging him to look at them or perhaps someone said his name or a word he knows and responds to "cookie" maybe? He looks as if once the picture is taken he would either relax his ears and dip his head, stand up and come over to the photographer with a wagging tail and relaxed attitude. Or he could continue to lie there and just look off at something else.Very handsome GSD!

You can easily tell by their tail, ears, and basic body movements in response. Ex. Perked ears means excited, listening, waiting. Tail behind legs means worried, suprised, frightned. Twisting head head slighty with perked ears means that it is listening, but doesn't know what you are trying to say...

It looks like someone just asked him a question that he knows the meaning of, such as "Wanna go for a walk?" or "Wanna a bone?" Or could be you are holding a toy, stick or ball in your hand and are showing it to him...It's a look of anticipation to narrow it down |

He is relaxed/comfortable with his surroundings (laying down), very interested in something (pricked ears, neck stretched, mouth closed) and even though relaxed, ready to move at a moment's notice (front left paw is braced against the ground, he's leaning to his right)That's pretty much how my dog looks if he notices something out the window... or if I'm getting his leash, or I have just shown him a ball.
