| Spanish in the United States???
does it make anyone else angry that so many things in the US are being translated into spanish (ie street signs and instructions on products) i realize that the US does not have an official language, but i dont think we should take on another one just because so many spanish-speaking people are coming to the US (many of which are here illegally anyway, so why should we try and accommodate them... aside from their willingness to perform lower-level jobs for less pay). my ancestors, along with many thousands of others, came to the US speaking their native tongue, working hard to make a living in the US. they struggled with learning to speak English at first, but were willing to do so because of all that the US offered them. come to the US legally and learn to speak english. if youre not lazy and ignorant, you can do it. i know it says we take the tired and weak, but lazy? i dont think so. if you want to be an american, you have to work for it. as everyone else has done. thoughts?

| Spanish in the United States???
This is the worst reason for being against illegal aliens. People in the US seem to believe that everyone in the world should speak English. They want everyone that comes to the US to speak English so they can understand. They also want to be able to go to foreign countries and have people speak English so they can understand. Why is there no understanding for others?Tourists come to the US too. Spanish is a language that is spoken in most countries in the Americas. It is reasonable to have street signs and other information in Spanish in the US especially in areas where there is a large Hispanic population or near the border.

| Spanish in the United States???
I think we should make English our official language. If we put everything in Spanish, put it in French. I'm sure a lot more people would rather see French then Spanish. French is the language of love. What's Spanish... a shitty language that no one wants to learn but are forced to.

| Spanish in the United States???
You are right: The USA does NOT have an official language. Now, why do you see more and more Spanish everyday? Well, the future of this country is BILINGUAL. There's no way to change that now. Spanish is already the second language in the USA, and you will see more and more billboards in Spanish because they mean more BUSINESS to many companies. If I were you, I'd learn Spanish to expand my horizons and have a better future. Times have changed, and today is not the time of your ancestors. Don't live in the past!Benny: are you really a top contributor? Well, if all your contributions are as shitty as the one you just did...
