| Where do I apply for a Japanese Visa, and etc? Please help?
I'm not a US citizen, but I'm a permanent resident. I'm working on getting my passport right now to go to Japan. I need to know:
1. Once I have obtained my passport, do I apply for a visa at the nearest Japanese consulate? Or is it possible to apply in Japan, upon landing? [I heard there was a 90-day waiver for US nationals, but since I'm not a US citizen - I'm just flying out of US - does that still apply to me?]
2. My length of stay in Japan will be 3 years - I'll be living there as a military dependent. Do they have visas specifically for dependents? Or would I have to file a general visa?
3. Besides a valid passport, what other materials/documents are needed to file a visa?
4. How long does it take for a visa to be processed [assuming that all goes well]?
Any help is much appreciated.
