I didn't go to Tokyo Disney b/c I was told it was exactly like Disney in the US. I did go to Tokyo Disney Sea and that was cool. You can get around the park ( and the country) without speaking Japanese well. Just have a little phrase book with you for the basics.expect it to be hot. Japanese do not wear shorts (FYI) unless they are school children.Just hop on the train. They have one that goes directly to both parks from Tokyo Station and that's your best and cheapest bet.defiantly check out the 100 YEN Stores. They are the dollar stores, but much better then in the US and you can buy souvenir there. Ask your at you hotel where they are. They are basically everywhere. Bring a wallet that has a large change compartment b/c the Japanese use coins for 1, 5, 10, 100, 500 yen and they pile up real quick.EDIT: the signs will be in japaeses and english letters (called romanji or something like that)

tokyo disneyland?

I went a few months ago. It was... okay. I bought my ticket from a seven 11, which is easier than queing to buy at the gates. They open at 8am but get there at about 7 - 7:30, because there will be a looooong wait if you don't!Defiently check out space mountain, splash mountain and the pirates of the carribean ride. The haunted mansion/haunted house ride is not scary at all but the effects (holograms and stuff) are amazing! The ticket cost about $50, but if you're a student it's about $40. Souveriners are very expensive. The rides (rollercoaters) weren't very "extreme" (faster than aussie coasters, but no where near as high drops or turns... maybe tokyo sea is different...) I would defienetly reccomend you get a "fast pass"! I went a day with horrible weather, it rained constantly and the wind was awful, and it was still pretty packed by my standards (we waited 90+ minutes in line), so summer holidays would probably be even more packed. But you can buy "fast passes" where for a certain time period (say 11am - 1pm) you can use that ticket to go into a special "fast pass" line, which is much quicker than waiting in normal line. And they're free! You can only have one at a time and only about 6 a day (I think) so you'd want to get them early.I got around fine without a guidebook and basic japanese, because if I remember most of it has english signs. The disneyland hotel resort is opposite the park iteself, so if you're staying there don't worry about transport.
