re-doing my kitchen to french bistro, help!?

I saw this lady who has a gorgeous kitchen yesterday. It is "french bistro" she had brown and white china and that is how she got to the french bistro thing. Her colors are brown, white and pink. She had fake cakes, chocolate signs, etc. I just have to try to get this look. I was thinking of making a fake menu. What ideas do you have. My budget is not like hers. I am going to make a brown with pink dot table cloth myself like she had. Any ideas or know any sites that are resonable, thanks.
I was planning to use a french vintage brown and white china set.
ps I just rent but the stuff I am doing is things i can take with.

I think the effect can look lovely, but if you are considering selling your house any time in the next few years, I would be cautious. I just watched a TV show, "Sell this House" where they ripped all that stuff down because it totally turned off potential buyers.

If you still are going ahead with it (I personally love the look, myself), go wander the halls of some wonderful big craft place like Michael's or AC Moore for ideas. You will come out of there FILLED with good ideas. They have great bits of wood in different shapes you can use, VERY inexpensive acrylic paints (on sale, like 4/$1.00), and so much else. Go have fun with it!
