Learning another Language? I'm 13 and I want to learn a new language. I want it to be German, Russian, or Japanese Tell me which language you think I would use the most and which one would be the hardest. Not only would I like to Speak it but i would also like to write it. Thank you

it depends on what nationality are you or what second language/ dialects do you know fluently. if you know english, i think it is easier to learn french, because most words are nearly similar. i am not sure, but i have a feeling that german might be near to french, because of germany is in europe. and languages of countries near to each other usually share some similarities. russian, on the other hand, would be a totally new language. japanese, it depends. japanese has 2 ways i think of writing its language. 1 is by the difficult kanji, which is similar to the chinese language. thus, if you know chinese, this would be easier. of course, the pronunciation are different, but the written characters and meaning are somewhat similar, if not nearly the same. the other way is by pronunciation, which is the common way of studying nihonggo.

For writing, Japanese will be hardest. All three will be useful to some extent. Russian and Japanese probably most useful. German grammar will probably be easier than Russian or Japanese, but that doesn't mean it's simple. Whichever you choose, work hard at it, and it will pay off in the long run. All three are rich languages with a lot to offer.
