Double Major in Chinese and Japanese?

I was thinking about doing a double major in Japanese and Chinese.

Would this be a stupid thing (to study Japanese and Chinese at the same time?)

I'm a native English speaker, and I only have average memorization skills...

I just wanna know if this is something people do/have done, and if it's impossibly difficult to do.
